Xbox games to be accessible in the cloud this year, says Phil Spencer

Phil Spencer, the video game guru and CEO of Xbox, never ceases to sound in networks. Two years ago, he intrigued us by announcing a feature that had us all in suspense. It is the possibility of playing the titles we buy on Xbox from the cloud.

The titles we purchased from the Microsoft Store could be enjoyed in the comfort of the cloud. And, you know what? This year is the time. Phil Spencer, in his laid-back style, commented in a chat with a user, “It should be this year.”

Xbox Cloud Gaming promises much more this year.

Can you imagine being able to play all your Xbox games on any device? Well, this dream is about to come true thanks to Xbox Cloud Gaming, Microsoft’s service that allows us to enjoy your titles from the cloud. It’s official! This was confirmed by Phil Spencer, the head of Xbox, in a conversation with a fan on Xbox Live.

Xbox Cloud Gaming has been in testing since 2019 and already offers Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members the ability to access a wide catalog of games on Android, iOS, Windows devices, Xbox consoles, Samsung Smart TVs and Meta Quest.

But the best is yet to come: this year, Microsoft plans to launch a feature that will allow you to also play games you have purchased from the Microsoft Store or have from previous Xbox consoles, as long as they are compatible with Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One.

So now you’re in the know, get ready to bring your Xbox experience to every screen. Not only that, Microsoft has also announced that it will be releasing more Xbox Game Studios and Bethesda Softworks games on rival consoles, such as PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch, depending on how they do on those platforms. Of course, Xbox and PC exclusive games, Game Pass releases and the brand’s commitment to its own consoles will remain the same.
