The Relic: The First Guardian shown in a trailer along with a somewhat distant date

It’s clear that FromSoftware serves as inspiration for new role-playing titles; adding the difficulty seen in soulslike games to the dark fantasy theme. The Relic: The First Guardian is another of many that wants to stand out from its rivals, and what better way than to be able to publish a six-minute video focused on the gameplay of the title from South Korea.

The title is developed by the unknown Project Cloud Games in collaboration with Perp Games. Beyond gameplay we also don’t have much information about The Relic: The First Guardian, except for a distant release date: a brief but clarifying premise and the platforms on which it will be available.

The Relic: The First Guardian is expected to be released sometime in 2025 and on Xbox Series consoles.

Beyond the spectacular trailer, the only thing left to talk about is the story; where we will move through the shadowy lands of Arsiltus and fulfill the role of being the guardian of this world. In the video we also take a look at the different weapons that we will be able to use and obtain; locations that we will visit and enemies that will put us against the ropes.

Next year could be a very important one as several games developed in Asian territories, such as China or South Korea, will make the jump and the predominant genre is soulslike, so it remains to be seen if these projects can honor the legacy of Dark Souls and company.

Hopefully one of them will be The Relic: The First Guardian which, while skipping its release next year, we’ll keep an eye out for any news on the title at future digital events. For the moment, we have to wait until 2025 to see its jump on Xbox Series consoles. Do you think it will make the grade or will it fall by the wayside?
